PSA Slab Dimensions (and BGS, CGC, TAG, SGC): Sizes in mm and Inches
Short answer: a standard PSA slab measures about 135.8 mm tall, 80.3 mm wide and 6.3 mm thick (5.34 × 3.16 × 0.25 inches). BGS slabs are shorter and thicker (about 130.8 × 83.0 × 8.5 mm), CGC slabs are about 135.0 × 80.3 × 7.5 mm, and TAG slabs are about 134.8 × 80.0 × 7.3 mm.
Slab dimensions decide everything downstream: which protector fits, which storage box works, how many slabs fit on a shelf and how much a shipment weighs. Here are the dimensions of the main graded card holders, side by side.

Typical outside dimensions from published digital caliper measurements of standard holders. Holders vary slightly between production runs and holder generations, so allow about ±0.5 mm. Tall holders (for oversized cards) are much larger and are not covered here.
PSA slab dimensions in detail
The standard PSA holder is the most common graded card holder in North America, used for Pokémon, One Piece, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magic and sports cards alike. Its key traits:
- Height: about 135.8 mm (5.34 in), including the label area at the top.
- Width: about 80.3 mm (3.16 in).
- Thickness: about 6.3 mm (0.25 in), the thinnest of the major graders.
- No stacking ridges: bare PSA slabs slide on each other when stacked, which scratches the faces.
PSA also uses thicker holders for thick cards such as patch and memorabilia cards. Those are about 10.3 mm thick and do not fit standard PSA protectors.
How PSA compares with BGS, CGC and TAG
- PSA vs BGS: BGS holders are about 5 mm shorter, about 3 mm wider and about 2 mm thicker. PSA and BGS protectors are never interchangeable.
- PSA vs CGC: nearly the same height and width, but CGC holders are about 1 mm thicker. A tight PSA bumper will not fit, but a case with depth tolerance can take both.
- PSA vs TAG: nearly the same height and width, with TAG about 1 mm thicker.
- PSA vs SGC: SGC holders are taller, wider and thicker than PSA holders.

Storage and shipping math
- Shelf space: standing upright, about 150 bare PSA slabs fit in one metre of shelf (6.3 mm each, before protectors and spacing).
- Box sizing: slab storage boxes are sized for one grader. A box made for PSA will be loose for TAG and too tight for BGS stacks.
- Weight: a standard PSA slab weighs roughly 45 to 50 g with the card. A TPU bumper adds about 20 g, an acrylic guard case about 40 g and a metal case about 60 g.
How to measure a slab yourself
- Use digital calipers if you have them. A ruler works for height and width.
- Measure height from the top of the label area to the bottom edge.
- Measure thickness at the thickest point, usually the edge frame.
